Denver Invitational Futurity Sale

During the National Western Stock Show

Auction will begin at 7PM Mtn time at the Double Tree hotel in Denver on Tuesday night. The first hour will be a silent auction where any bidder can write down their bid exceeding prior bid or floor listed per lot.

Phone bids will be accepted, just call any one of the cell phones listed by any lot below and your bid will be relayed and recorded.

At 8PM live bidding will begin. To be able to bid, bidders must have recorded at least one bid on at least one lot between 7 and 8PM. Bidders can then bid on any lot.

Live sale will begin with whatever lot has the highest written bid, then the lot with the second highest, etc. Again, phone bids will be accepted, just call any phone number listed or Mark Nelson at 402-705-3907 or Kendall Schlake at 402-300-0745.

Payment will be made to owner of each lot.

There have been hundreds of Braunvieh cows go through the Brink herd since 1978, and this cow branded “516” is our best one. The facts: 362-day calving interval on 11 calves, every EPD but fat above breed average with YW, MM, CEM, M&G, REA & MARB in top 25% or better.

A son is herd sire for us and sire of the Lot 1, $2,700 heifer in the 2011 Elite Roundup Sale. A daughter, P516, sold in the 2008 Texas Memorial Day Sale for $9,000 to Christopher Cattle Co., and is now owned by 2 Bar Rockin K. We have more daughters in our herd, and her 516Y heifer we’re showing this year was calf champion at Tulsa.

“516” is the biggest Polled Plus cow we’ve seen and she has proven her worth. She’s almost 12 years old, but very sound and looks half that age. Breed this ¾ cow to a purebred bull and you’ll get purebred heifers and 7/8 bulls. It’s time to replicate the “516” genetics.

She is the fittest of the survivors.
